Are you a Pro-life or Pro-choice?
What an interesting question, as a Christian, Business Man, Husband, Pastor and Clergy in the Lord’s church and coming from different melt of culture, I would say that the definition of both words is different depending on the country and culture, it’s sometimes simple although it sounds confusing the way in the United States we label others by the lack of understanding of the word or the terminology. While Pro-life has been defined to us as protecting life and government imposing to a woman what to do with the pregnancy; I feel compelled that both words of protecting life and imposing a woman to keep a pregnancy, sound contradictory in the ways of God; because not only God wants us to protect life but he never imposed us what to do. God gives us the free will and the room to choose.
The pro-life and pro-choice movements primarily come into conflict on the issue of abortion.
Our choice is a small token as an expression of gratitude toward participation in God’s creation.
In the
I personally advocate on saving the life of a baby or fetus at any cost, nevertheless I believe the choice and the decision must remain confidential between the doctor, the person and God. Not let the government get involved on something that is not illegal.
However nowadays we can’t let the government dictate us to carry the pregnancy, this will open the door for the government and our political leaders to dictate women and men in other aspects like, how many children they should have, what type the neighborhood they should live in? What type of ethnicity a person should marry? Where we should build our houses? This will take us back to old days, when black men were forbidden to live in certain neighborhood. But there is a dynamic in this situation, if a woman has been a victim of rape, and decides not to keep the baby, should the government dictate that person or impose to that woman to keep the pregnancy? This is a critical question, if we are trying to hide behind our belief or what has been taught to us for many years that we should keep the baby despite your pain or your tragedy, this should be a personal decision not a government responsibility to dictate to a women if she should keep the baby or not.
The bible advocates God as a creator who gives us the freewill and He said to Israelites” I put before you life and death, but you should choose. While God suggests choosing life, it is clear that you make the choice. So while being a Pro-life we are taking away a person’s choice? This should not even be a problem or a debate, the question should be Are you a Pro-choice or Anti-choice, should I have the choice to decide? Should I do what I believe is right for my life?
To be "pro-choice" is to believe that individuals have unlimited autonomy with respect to their own reproductive systems as long as they do not breach the autonomy of others.
In the United States, the pro-choice position is perceived as "pro-abortion." In China, where abortion is sometimes required by law, the pro-choice position would be perceived as "anti-abortion." The purpose of the pro-choice movement is to ensure that all choices remain legal.
God always advocates the choice, he wants us to make a choice, and he wants us to participate on his creation. In nutshell, Pro-life and Pro-choice we should not always focus on abortion however follow our internal voice to decide to protect life and not to give room for government to dictate us.

I don't endorse abortion, nor do I think that abortion should be used as a way out for irresponsible people. Nonetheless, I'm pro-choice.
I'm a survivor of rape who has a serious story. I couldn't imagine the government forcing me to carry a fetus that was planted by my rapist or abuser. That's physical and emotional torture.

What a great question! I would read into the question on abortion. However, it's clear that is not the intent of the question. I am pro-life. I oppose abortion; euthanasia and assisted suicide; the death penalty; and war, with few exceptions. The pro-life and pro-choice movements primarily come into conflict on the issue of abortion. Even ... See Morethough I oppose abortion, I believe the government does not have the right to impede a woman's right to decide whether or not to continue a pregnancy. I believe that should stay between the woman and her doctor and God!
Pro-life. I have a friend who was raped, chose life, and raised her child by herself and without regrets. God can make something beautiful out of an ugly beginning. If the child could choose, he/she would always choose life. Thank God our mothers chose life
@Donna. It is not clear if you also are against the death penalty, assisted suicide and war to be for pro-life. I have seen some who say they are pro-life because of abortion but support the death penalty. Pro life is not limited to just abortion but to a host of choices on life and death situations

@ Donna - everyone doesn't experience this "happy" ending.

Regardless, I encourage people to choose life

If one doesn't believe in abortion, one shouldn't have one. Walking in a rape survivor's shoes would offer some perspective. Your friend didn't have regrets, but many other women do

Many women regret having an abortion. It's an emotionally explosive issue. Caryl, I am sorry for your horrible experience and pray you find healing and freedom from all the pain. Peace
I think you missed the point. Best

I encourage people to choose what is best for them and I respect their choice, regardless of what they choose. I am pro choice. Some (non-sensical) people in the past have accused me of being "pro abortion". What a giant leap that is and what a horrible thing to accuse somebody of. I am certainly not "pro abortion" but I respect a woman's ... See Morecapability to choose what is best for her situation. I respect a woman's right to choose, it is as simple as that. It is between her and her doctor and God, as Ronald eloquently put it. I am against the death penalty. Mainly for the reason that I think it lets people off of the hook too easily. They should have to sit and think and pay their debt to society for whatever crime they committed to put them there. And what if it is proven down the road that they did not commit the crime they were put to death for? It happens. More often than we would like to think. I am pro assisted suicide. I believe, again, that people should have the freedom to make their own choices. I am anti-war. There is always a way to resolve conflict without sending masses of young men and women into battle to fight for things that should be solved through diplomatic channels. Anyway, my two cents and brief reasoning behind my positions.
Pro-life..because a child is a gift from God..it doesn't matter what's the circumstance..only God can give life..
Anne-Caroline Brown Taylor Pro choice because I believe everybody has the right to make that decision for themselves

Pro choice because you always have a choice, even choosing life is a choice
